Tommy Wasiuta is a New York City based tap dance artist from St. Louis, Missouri, trained under Anthony Russo and Maria Majors. Described as a "breath of dance freedom" by the New York Times, he has performed with internationally acclaimed tap company Dorrance Dance, Michela Marino Lerman, Max Pollak, Luke Hickey, and Elizabeth Burke.
His solo tap album Drum Shoes explores the tap shoes as a percussive instrument and was featured at the Percussive Arts Society International Conference (PASIC). As a choreographer, he was granted a cycle with Dance Lab New York and has presented work at the Making Moves Dance Festival.
An active educator, Tommy is a professor at New York University and on faculty at Steps on Broadway and the Joffrey Ballet School, sought out to teach at events around the globe. He is an alumnus of The School at Jacob's Pillow. Stage credits include The Joyce Theater, Dizzy's Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, 92nd Street Y, St. Marks Church, and Little Island, with guest appearances alongside Ulysses Owens Jr. Big Band, The Hot Sardines, and the St. Joseph Symphony Orchestra.
