New Jersey Foundation for Dance and Theatre Arts

DSC_0089_V2.jpgThe New Jersey Foundation for Dance and Theatre Arts is a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization created to develop community awareness of the performing arts. The American Youth Dance Company is under the umbrella of The New Jersey Foundation in residence at The King Centre for the Performing Arts in Wanaque, Mahwah and Butler.  The Company has developed an extensive repertoire of original dance pieces, using musical comedy themes, jazz dance, classical, neo classical, and hip hop styles.

Company members have performed concerts throughout New Jersey, across the United States and abroad.  They have been the featured performers in European concert halls, as well as local fundraisers.  The company has been chosen to represent the state of New Jersey in the national Invitational Dance Festival for the last 20 years.  They have toured and performed in England, Scotland, Wales, Belgium, France, Romania, and Japan.  The American Youth Dance Company takes pride in its international reputation and in performances to raise funds for local organizations and charities.  The company performed at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center for their Arts Education series.  The company also appeared at Pace University in New York City as part of the Tri-State Youth Invitational Dance Festival and performed for DRA at Symphony Space on 95th Street, New York City.

Members of the dance company have appeared on Broadway and in national and international performing companies in Wicked, Billy Elliott, Movin’ Out, 42nd Street, Dance of the Vampires, Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed, The Sound of Music, Annie, Annie Warbucks, West Side Story, Sugar Babies, Dream, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, …Forum, The King and I, A Christmas Carol, The Lion King, Grease, Peter Pan, Songs For A New World, the world famous Rockettes, several Music Artists, Music Videos, Concerts, Film, and Television.

The Foundation’s dance company is known as one of the most eclectic companies in the country.  The objective of the Company is to increase the community’s awareness of the arts and to stimulate and encourage the study and presentation of the performing arts; educationally as well as artistically.  The company is proud of its reputation to provide the experience of performing and the opportunity to develop professional aspirations.  For more information on the company click HERE.

The New Jersey Foundation also produces and sponsors Musical Theatre workshops and performances as well as professional theatre productions.  They have produced, “Carousel”, “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown”, “All Shook Up”, “Last Of The Red Hot Lovers”, “Into The Woods”, “Odd Couple”, “Steel Magnolia”, “Prisoner of Second Avenue” and “The Nutcracker”.
